Deerfield Valley Medical Center

The Southwestern Vermont Health Center owns the Deerfield Valley Medical Center in Wilmington Vermont. In 2019, the remote campus was in dire need of more space for programming and patients, and upgrades to meet modern healthcare practices.

The building was poorly insulated with severe water intrusion issues. The major challenge of the project was that the building needed to remain fully operational while being completely gutted and rebuilt and an addition built at the same time. The scope of work also included digging around the perimeter of the building to replace foundation walls and install new drainage.

GPI won the competitive bid and through masterful planning and phasing and working closely with hospital staff was awarded the opportunity to not only renovate the Deerfield campus but ultimately formed a lasting relationship where they performed countless renovations at the main hospital campus in Bennington.
