Next Stage Performing Arts Center

Project overview

GPI was hired to provide construction management services for the renovations and addition to the historic Next Stage performing arts center in Putney Vermont. Originally a church built by the residents of Putney in 1841 we worked closely with the Putney Historic society and the next stage owners to transform the building into a vibrant village center. Renovations of the 6000 square foot existing building included an elevator to provide a fully accessible theater space, restoration of the building’s historic ceiling and major upgrades to the performing space including seating, HVAC, lighting and sound. The 2300 square foot addition included the creation of a green room, storage areas for historic archives and public restrooms. We are currently working with the owners to complete the final phase of the restoration during the summer/fall of 2016.
